The Heart of Kapit Bahay
How a family's love for food became your neighborhood's home away from home
Kapit Bahay was born from a simple idea: that great Filipino food should always feel close to home. In May 2009, Kapit Bahay opened its doors in Scarborough with one goal - to feed their neighbors the way they fed their own family.
Kapit Bahay means "neighbor" in Tagalog, and that name has guided everything we do. From our slow-cooked adobo, to our hearty sinigang, every dish is made the way it was meant to be - with traditional recipes, honest ingredients, and a whole lot of love.
Seventeen years later, we're still that same family kitchen. Whether you grew up eating Filipino food, or you're trying it for the first time, we want you to feel it - that warmth of sitting down to a home-cooked meal, right in your own neighborhood.
